What is Androgenic Alopecia?

Androgenetic Alopecia occurs when hair follicles form a sensitivity to hormones, or androgens that already exist within the body. Within those follicles are androgen receptors. When the hormone (typically testosterone) binds to the androgen receptor, it triggers 5-alpha reductase to convert testosterone into DHT(dihydrotestosterone).
